We invite you to visit this or other gardens around the country. For more information, see their locations on ourGarden Tour.
Our Vision is Two-Fold:
1.To promote natural settings where all who grieve the loss of a child may gather to seek comfort and peace, and
2.To work locally and nationally in order to provide loved ones multiple avenues for healing and hope.
Check out the Calendar, listing upcoming events at gardens scattered across our nation. All CMG Garden members who have registered with this site and are approved will have access to add events. National conferences and gatherings assisting families through the grieving process will also be listed. Our quarterly Newsletter is now available on-line. If you would prefer to receive the eNewsletter by email, please Register Here. Heart-to-Heart is a collection of inspirational, courageous, and/or comforting articles from others who are walking the same unwanted journey of grief. If your experience created a change that would affect others in a positive way: changed a law, medical procedure, or the community's perspective on child loss grief, please share your story, Contact us.
The Gardens Remembering with a Fresh Perspective
Each of the Children's Memorial and Gardens scattered across our country began because someone was deeply moved to reach out. Many were parents, grandparents and siblings who, through their own personal sorrow, wanted to:
Make a difference in the lives of the brokenhearted Bring a sense of balance in a sometimes chaotic world Honor the lives of our beloved children Say to another, '...I care.'
New gardens continue to develop. Each one (new and established) is unique in style, autonomous and self-governing. Whether tiny or large; a quiet interlude or a grand expanse devoted to a cause, each garden, path, park or walkway pays tribute to a life that brought joy, talent and mischief into this world.
We invite you to take the Garden Tour. Besides offering pictures of each unique garden site and location information, we've provided a direct link to each web site (when possible) for expanded coverage and information on that particular garden.
We want this to be a place you come to visit often. Know that you're with friends; people who have lived a similar experience. Articles will change from time to time, new gardens will continue to join us. We will continue to reach out to you and to those who offer services that may be of help to you. Here is some of what you may expect.
EXPANDED We've updated the Directory and categorized it to make it more user friendly. If there is a web site, organization, or garden you think we should include, please Contact Us.
REMINDER What we do is possible because of your support. 100% of your donations support our programs. Each of us who works with the Children's Memorial and Gardens volunteers our time. If you've been inspired by our vision and would like to help.
It is through collaboration and partnerships that we gain strength and wisdom. It is through reaching out to those in sorrow that we all experience healing and hope.
We all feel confident that we're connected in this age of computers and cell phones and, yet, in an accident situation we may find ourselves completely isolated from our loved ones, especially, if we are unable to communicate or if we don't have updated emergency information.
What should take a matter of minutes to unite families has, in fact, taken hours. It wasn't one hour or two, or even four hours before Christine Olson received word about her daughter...
Robie's Law Making EKGs part of
Routine School Physicals
Debra Masterson's son, Robie, was 4-years-old when his life ended from an undetected heart anomaly. A simple, non-invasive EKG would have alerted the medical profession to the undetected problem. It would have saved his life.
Debra is collaborating with the medical community and the school boards in New Jersey to be sure all school-aged children receive a base-line EKG as a part of their standard physical testing prior to entering kindergarden.
Heart to Heart
Losing a child is devastating. Often times we feel isolated and alone on this foregin journey. Here's a chance for you toreach out to others. Through you personal experience, you may be able to offer someone else a word of hope. Thank You.
